Hooray!

Two good things happened today.

1) Joy was REALLY tired until about 4 this afternoon. (no, this is not the good news.) But then she got a red blood cell transfusion and was almost back to her old self.

2) Joy's white blood cell count got up to about 300 today. (this IS the good news)

Yeah JOY!

Hej Joy,
John and I drove to Kansas this weekend to attend the Swedish festival in Lindsborg, KS. I've always wanted to go and John's been aching to add Kansas to his "states I've been to list." Anyway, you would have loved it. There were people walking around in traditional dress, little kids singing songs about being cobblers and doing a dance that looked like they were making shoes. John said it sounded like the fish slapping song from "The Producers." :-)
We bought our horse crazy niece a dala hess for her birthday, they have a factory like the one we visited. I tried to convince John to climb on the huge Dala hess to get his picture taken, but his British sensibilities wouldn't allow it. Poor John was regaled all day with stories of you, Turtle and Bogart. It was a really surreal experience, surreal but fun!

Didn't get a change to check on your progress on Fri and Sat..but am so happy to read that you contine to improve. I hope this week brings additional healing and continued return of strength.

Big ol kram,

Steph

Joy,
I am sending my love your way---to the 8th floor of the LDS Hospital. I worked on that floor as a student nurse many years ago, and I know of the greatness of that hospital.
I often hear the laughter of your children from your yard to mine, and it reminds me that Heavenly Father is watching over them.
I want you to know of my love, concern, and prayers for you. I have enjoyed having you as a neighbor and a friend. You have been an example to me!

Your latest progress sounds great! I am so thrilled to hear things are going well for you. Jenn and I think of you and Ken often and some of the crazy trips we went on (pre-kid of course).
Do you remember when Kennedi was 2-weeks old and we went to the Woolley cabin?? And due to the weather we had to snowmobile out! Kennedi's first snowmobile trip at a whopping age of two-weeks. Good times, good times.
I know you hear this always but if there is anything we can do, regardless of what it is or when you need it, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Ken and Joy,
You have been in our personal prayers many, many times in the last few weeks. The Stake Presidency has also mentioned you by name in their Sunday morning meetings. We know that prayer is effective in bringing about great things. I was so happy to find out about this site so that we can know what is happening without being a burden to you. I know how hard it is to respond to so many people who care when you don't feel well. I too loved seeing your beautiful smile with these pictures. You are an amazing person! We look forward to even more good news each day of this huge trial. Ken, thank you for your testimony today at church. Also your sweet children. It was my first time there since my latest hip surgery and it gave me the greatest spiritual boost. The scriptures you shared were perfect. I've marked them as a great teaching moment in my life. Please know of our love and continual support. President and Becky Sohm
