Day 133 and counting! Joy's counting to 200 now. The doctors have told her that it's not uncommon to take 200 days to feel much better for people receiving transplants from someone with a different blood type. This is why her red blood cells may not have come back in full force and so she still requires blood transfusions every other week.
Actually, Joy's bone marrow is producing red blood cells, but they seem to be destroyed quickly. This could be a problem stemming from medication that may be killing them. Tests are underway and the results should come in anytime. However, she's not showing any signs of the graph-host disease (Yahoo!) and she's producing white blood cells and platelets well. Also, it's anyone's guess what Joy's new hair will turn out like--it's coming back and seems thick and dark?!
Meanwhile, Joy's been keeping busy. She's been a trooper--she attended all the events of her sister-in-law's wedding. She's also been enjoying running small errands (imagine that!) with Ken in tow. And, she and Ken enjoyed their first walk together in a long time.

Oh we are always excited to hear updates Joy! 133 is a great number...now it's 135. We are cheering you on! You will have to take a picture of your new hair once it grows in and post it on the blog. You are in are thoughts always!
Joy, we're rooting for you. I'm glad to hear things are getting progressively better. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We'll be coming out to Utah for 3 weeks beginning June 21. We'll have to stop by for a visit and take you guys out to dinner if you are up to it. Best wishes and as always, please let us know if we can do anything for you. Thanks,
Joy--how great to hear such good news. My kids are out of school for the summer, so we would love to help with your kids if you need a break. I am sure you are just so glad to be home with them, but we would enjoy having them over. Call me and let me know! Karen 282-3111
Joy,
Great news. We have Rachel and Josh home for a few weeks. Rachel and our 2 granddaughters are here for 2 more weeks. Lisa and I have said how many times we would like to stop by....but we are not sure we can yet. Maybe I should just call you. :)

Joyous,
Great news! John and I were talking about how important little things like running errands and being able to go for walks are in the big scheme of things...they're a huge part of feeling a part of life. Hmm...so I'm wondering what you'll look like with dark luxurious locks:-)
Love,
Steph
Hi Joy,
We are so glad that things are progressing in a positive way! We know our prayers are being answered. If you are up to it we hope to see you at the family party on June 30th! I don't know if ANY of us are ever up to those parties!! We love, love, love you and your sweet family,
Your Favorite Cousins!
Love to hear the good news. Joy you are amazing. Can't wait to see you with dark? hair? You are beautiful and we love you!
Joy - We just received your Christmas card and were in complete disbelief at all that has transpired in your life this past year. Unbelievable! The last time I saw you was at Babinskis right before you had the twins! We are thrilled the transplant went well. You will be in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope to see you soon. Fight, Fight, Fight! We love you.

Fick precis erat kort.... Visste inte att du blivit sjuk... vet inte vad jag ska säga men tänker på dig och din familj i massor!!!
Hoppas allt går bra, ska tänka på dig varje dag.
Stor kram från Naomi
Joy-
We continue to think of you daily and you are always in our prayers. Glad to hear things are going in a positive direction. We love you and can't wait to see you with dark hair - it's the best anyway! Let us know when you are feeling up to reading a good book and a night out with the book group girls. Book Group has fizzled without your lovely presence and I'm sure one and all would love to get together with you when you feel up to it.
Much Love,
Laurel & Family
